How To Apply
Follow These Steps
-
Before filling out an application, take a moment to look through our current and upcoming litters to see which one feels like the best match for your family. We encourage families to apply only when they’re truly ready, so reviewing the pairings, timing, and expected traits ahead of time will help ensure you choose the litter that aligns with what you’re looking for.
-
When we are ready to begin accepting deposits for a specific litter, we will send an email containing the application link. Once you submit your application, and if it looks like a good fit, we will set up a short phone call to go over any questions you may have and to ensure that our program is the right match for your family.
After the call—if your application is approved and both sides feel confident about moving forward—I will let you know which puppy pick number is currently available for that litter. This helps you understand your place in the selection order before placing your deposit.
-
Once we’ve had our phone call and we both feel confident moving forward, the next step is placing your $500 non-refundable deposit and completing the reservation agreement. This officially holds your spot in the selection order for that litter.
Because every litter is different, we only accept a set number of deposits before the puppies are born. If all advance spots are filled, you’re welcome to join our standby list at no cost. After the puppies arrive and we know exactly how many are available, we reach out to families on the standby list in the order they joined.
The number of early reservations we accept can vary depending on the mother, her previous litters, and what we expect based on her pregnancy.
Once your deposit has been received and your reservation form is completed, your place in line is locked in for that specific litter.
-
Once your spot on the litter list is secured, we’ll keep you updated throughout the entire process. You will receive emails to help you prepare for your new puppy, along with regular updates, photos, and information about how the litter is developing. We also share updates on our social media pages so families can follow along and watch the puppies grow.
As the puppies get older, we provide insights into their personalities and characteristics to help you get to know them before selection day.
Puppy Pick Day
Puppy selections normally take place around 6 weeks of age. Each family will be scheduled for a one-on-one appointment so you can meet the puppies and choose based on your assigned pick number, as well as temperament and fit for your household.
Go-Home Day
Puppies go home at 8 weeks of age. On pick-up day, the remaining balance is due in cash, and you’ll sign your final contract, which includes our spay/neuter agreement and health guarantee. Your puppy will also go home with a personalized puppy pack containing items to help them settle into their new home.
For families flying their puppy, the final payment is due at 7 weeks via an approved electronic method.
*Important Reminder:
Doodles in the House always reserves the right to hold back a puppy from any litter. This may include the first male, first female, or another puppy we feel is an exceptional fit for our program. If we choose not to keep a puppy from that litter, the next families on the list will simply move up in order.
We are committed to placing our puppies only in homes that are safe, stable, and aligned with our values. If at any time during the process we feel that a placement is not in the best interest of the puppy, we reserve the right to end the adoption process. Our top priority is always the long-term well-being of each puppy we raise.
